Norman L. Peterson

Norman L. Peterson, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

Private services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Norman was born September 28, 1924 in Saltair, Utah to Jess Peterson & Annie Hutchinson Peterson. In 1942 he graduated from Torrance High School in Torrance, California. He then enlisted in the United States Navy. In June 1948 he married Barbara Fullmer. For 30+ years he worked for Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1989. He moved from Torrance to Grants Pass 22 years ago.

Norman volunteered with the Head Start Program for many years. His hobbies included woodworking, crossword puzzles, and computers.

Norman is survived by two daughters, Debra Peterson of Wilderville, Oregon and Cynthia Sprague of Frenchtown, Montana; two sons, James Peterson of Bellflower, California and Ronald Peterson of Torrance, California; two sisters, Shirley Hodes of Grants Pass, Oregon and Louise Yancey of Santa Rosa, California; two brothers, Ralph Peterson of Fullerton, California and Richard Peterson of Arroyo Grande, California; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Peterson and his daughter, Amy Peterson.
