Norma J. Woods

Norma Jean Woods, age 73, of Grants Pass died Friday, May 7, 2010 at her home.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hull & Hull Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

Norma was born April 11, 1937 in Weitchpec, California. She was very proud of her Indian Heritage. She was Yurok of Northern, California. She graduated with honors from Hoopa High. She moved to San Jose, California where she resided for 43 years. In 2002 she moved to Grants Pass.

Norma was a wonderful homemaker and a caring and loving mother. She loved life and loved her family. She was adored by many – she will be missed.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jack Woods of Grants Pass; son, Lanus Woods of Grants Pass; daughter, Vickie Woods of Nampa, Idaho; daughter, Dawn Ward of Grants Pass; sisters, Janice Green and Lucille Downs; her companion and partner in crime, her dog, Bobbi; grandchildren, Marty Dodge, Lanus Woods, Jr., Derrick Dodge, Eric Dodge, James Farenga, Jr., Nanci Paz, Karalyssa Epidendio; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Zach, Alize’, Ashtin, Chloe, Brian, Izayah, Jasmine and Payton. Her dearest family Billy and Barbara Pearson of Weitchpec, California.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Miner and mother, Lorna Downs as well as sister, Marilyn Downs.
