Myron E. Brown, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Private family services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Myron was born Myron Earl Brown August 15, 1930 in Richfield, Idaho to Jesse & Bertha (Gattiker) Brown. In 1954 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho he married the former Loretta June Webster. He served in the United States Army, in the Military Police from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. In 1946 his family moved from Coeur d'Alene to Grants Pass, and he worked in local lumber mills until retiring 1991.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and belonged to the Beacon Hill Ward in Grants Pass.

Myron grew up playing golf at the Grants Pass Golf Course where his father was a greens keeper. He hit a hole-in-one twice in his lifetime; one in Grants Pass and one in Wisconsin. He was also an avid bowler at Caveman Bowl. He enjoyed camping, gold panning and going for Sunday drives.

Survivors include his wife Loretta “Patty” Brown of Grants Pass; a stepson, Rick Brown of Marysville, Washington; three sons, Michael Brown and wife, Terri of Medford, Oregon, Steven Brown and wife Linda of Portland, Oregon and Larry Brown and wife Jessica of Grants Pass; two daughters, Pamela Taylor and husband John of Mendon, Utah and Sandra Perry and husband Bill of Eugene, Oregon; a sister, Norma Kilburn of Buffalo, Missouri; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Fred; a sister, Betty and a half-brother, Elwood Thompson.
