Michael "Mike" Larson

Michael “Mike” Larson, 83, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019.

He was born in Van Nuys, California on April 9, 1936 to parents, Rudolph and Stella Larson. Mike moved to Grants Pass in 1966 with his wife, Susie. They were wed April 13, 1957 and were married for 60 years.

In 1958, Mike was stationed in Cherbourg, France, while serving in the U.S. Army.

Mike was a contractor, real estate broker and land developer. He developed Colonial Valley and the greater North Valley area in Josephine County.

He enjoyed woodworking, exploring ghost towns, sailing his 42’ wooden sailboat, that he handcrafted in his own backyard, and driving somewhere new to eat with his wife. He loved the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, the Oregon Coast and cross-country trips to the East Coast.

Mike was a member of the Colonial Valley Property Association in the 1970s and Oregon Realtors MLS.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Q. in 2017; and his mother, Stella in 2002.

Mike is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lori Larson of South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Garry Golden of Portland, Oregon; and six grandchildren, Brendan, Jared, Michael, Collin, Brayden and Collin.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
