Michael Hews Gibson

Michael Hews Gibson, 57 of Cave Junction, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born on April 23, 1949 in Springfield, Oregon and was raised in Sacramento, California. He was involved with horse racing while living with his grandparents. His grandfather (Howard Conley) was a jockey and Michael worked at the race track in the Sacramento area for 16 years before he began doing long haul trucking. When he moved to the Rogue Valley he continued driving locally until he was disabled.

He loved music, especially old country music. He also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.

Survivors include his significant other, Sande Moquin of Cave Junction; his sister, Debbie Calek of Carter Lake, Iowa; his brother, Larry Gibson of Townsend, Montana; three nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Gibson.
