Michael Charles Fornaciari

Michael Charles Fornaciari of Rogue River, Oregon died on October 19, 2019 at age 67.

Michael was born to Raymond and Laraine Fornaciari on May 13, 1952 in San Francisco, California. Michael and his brothers were raised in the vibrant, scenic city of San Francisco where they looked out their kitchen window to views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island, and Ghirardelli Square.

Michael’s love of the outdoors began as a child with vacations spent fishing, swimming and exploring the woods at the family summer house in Boulder Creek, CA. In his youth, Michael was drawn to the quiet, open spaces of Oregon where he and his wife eventually settled in the small town of Rogue River to raise their daughter and begin their careers. Michael was a talented and accomplished craftsman, carpenter and home builder. As the owner of Fornaciari Construction, Michael built numerous houses throughout the Rogue Valley and was happiest when working on a new project.

His home for nearly forty years, Michael loved the Rogue Valley for its forested mountains, wild, beautiful river and tight-knit community. Michael enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, cooking for family and friends, listening to music, and watching San Francisco 49er football games. Michael was grateful for his family and to those who offered their help and kind support over the last years of his life. He especially adored his two granddaughters who were a bright spot in his life.

Michael is survived by his step-mother JoAnne, brothers Chris and Scott, sisters-in-law Marie and Wendy, daughter Tori, daughter-in-law Julia, nieces Lisa, Erin, Carrie and Bella, nephew Dante, grandchildren Celia and Neve, and ex-wives Jody and Mira. Laraine and Raymond Fornaciari, mother and father, preceded him in death.
