Maxine June Koop

July 8, 1929 — November 26, 2015

Maxine June Koop, 86, of Rogue River, Oregon, passed Thanksgiving Day November 26th in her home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Daughter of John and Viola Siebenneicher, Maxine is survived by her daughters, Deborah Colella, Sandra Hunt, Lavonna Butters, son Scott Koop, four grandchildren Andrea Kunze, Ashley Koop, Brant Butters and Amber Koop, and one great grandchild Alex. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Koop and brother Wayne Siebenneicher.

Maxine was born and raised on a small Nebraska farm. She helped her father on the farm working with mule and horse teams. Maxine graduated from Fairbury High School at the age of 16 and worked in office administrative positions until she met and married Stanley J. Koop. They lived in many different places throughout their lives raising a family of 4 children. They lived 40 years in Bradbury California. Maxine held various secretarial jobs until retiring from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratories in California. She lived out the bulk of her post retirement years with her daughter Sandra in Rogue River Oregon and spent summers travelling or visiting in Boulder, MT with her daughter Deborah.

Maxine loved to dance, sing, horseback ride and travel. She had an immense love for animals. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
