Mattie E. Taylor, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

A viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the Relief Society Room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center on Williams Highway.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center on Williams Highway. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Mattie was born March 6, 1934 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Charles & Lula Hinkle. She attended school Roswell, New Mexico. On December 22, 1950 she married Charles Norman Taylor who preceded her in death. In 1972 she moved from San Diego, California to Grants Pass.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Redwood Ward.

Mattie served in many church callings and especially enjoyed teaching Cultural Arts, serving as the Relief Society President and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. She also enjoyed homemaking and serving others.

Her hobbies included gardening, yard work, cooking and family times.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Taylor and wife Heather and Randy Taylor and wife Krista, both of Grants Pass, Jeff Taylor and wife Wendi of Hyrum, Utah and Patrick Taylor and wife Tami of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter Cheryl Marsden and husband Cliff of Idaho Falls, Idaho and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Taylor in 2013; a son, Daniel in 1967; a daughter, Theresa in 1953; grandchildren, Lisa Marie, Mariah and Daniel and two great granddaughters.
