Mary Pearl Garlitz

Mary Pearl Garlitz, 93, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born in Colborn, Colorado on May 20, 1912 to Milt and Ruth Brisbin. She had three sisters and three brothers. They were raised in Colorado and California. She went to Junior College in Bakersfield, California. She moved back to Colorado where she met Earl Garlitz. They were married on April 8, 1934. The lived in Grand Junction, Colorado where they had two daughters and one son. The family moved to Southern California in September 1941. Mary was a loving wife and mother and loved by many. She loved to take the whole family on picnics and to the beach. Mary and Earl moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1971, when Earl retired.

Mary & Earl traveled all over the world on tours and all over the United States in their pickup and camper. Mary loved meeting new people and seeing new places.

Survivors include her children, Norma Taylor and her husband Don of Rogue River; Millie Celoni of Fairfield, California; and Lee Garlitz and his wife Peggy of Rogue River; three sisters, Mabel Howes of Anchorage, Alaska; Ruth Becher of Dolores, Colorado; and Harriet New of Lancaster, California; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl; three brothers, Rex, Bill and Bob Brisbin; and her son in law, Joe Celoni.
