Mary Lucille Schiffiler, has passed away at the age of 88 in Grants Pass, Oregon. She was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma March 22, 1929. She was raised in Oklahoma until her family moved to California about 1941. She attended and graduated from Huntington Park High School in California. On September 9, 1951 Mary married Joseph Schiffiler. Together they raised a son, Tony, and two daughters, Susan and Janice. Mom would say her greatest accomplishments were her three children.

She considered herself fortunate to have a wonderful family and friends. She worked for various companies including U.S. Steel, Century 21 Real Estate, and the Greater Los Angeles County School District. Upon retirement, she and her husband Joe moved to Oregon. Her passions over the years were traveling, Tole painting, singing, and playing the piano. She was quite an accomplished singer and pianist and loved to play ragtime. She was also very active in her local church volunteering her time, reading to young children, and singing in the choir.

Mary is survived by her husband Joseph Schiffiler, a WWII veteran, her daughter Susan O'Rourke and husband Ed, her son Tony Schiffiler and wife Rosie, her daughter Janice Meador and partner Billy, grandchildren Shane Meador and Trajan Dering, great-grandchildren Cayden Meador and Cameron Meador. She is also survived by her sister Margaret “Tincy” Bowers and her husband Rihard. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer R. Pugh and Bernice Williams, and brothers Edwin, Jack and Harry.

A funeral service in memory of Mary will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Bible Church, 113 Caves Avenue in Cave Junction, Oregon, 97523.

Mary's final resting place will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, Oregon 97524. There will be a smaller non-graveside service held at the commemorative shelter at this cemetery at 2 p.m.
