Mary Louise was also a great marksmen with a rifle, she belonged to the Yuma Rifle Club. Mary Louise married Walter T. Simon, a member of the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego. Mary Louise was a first generation American and was the youngest of thirteen children born to her natural parents. Upon her mother’s death, Mary Louise was placed for adoption at a very young age. Walter and Mary Louise have lived in Cave Junction for the past 32 years. They were hoping to celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary this May 2022. Walter and Mary Louise became members of the Illinois Valley Evangelical Free Church prior to the church being built at its currently location. Mary Louise handled the financial books for the church while it was under construction

Found in my mother’s Bible written in her own hand:
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen, Unheard, but always near. Still Loved, Missed and Very Near.”
