Mary Ellen (Muller) Oliphant

Mary Ellen (Muller) Oliphant, age 57, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Calvary Crossroads Church with Pastor Joe Burgess officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born September 19, 1955 in Concord, California to Douglas & Eleanor Muller. In 1973 she graduated from Alhambra High School in Martinez, California and then attended Diablo Valley Community College in Pleasant Hill, California. On September 7, 1985 in Walnut Creek, California she married Jeff Oliphant. In December 1991 she moved from Antioch, California to Grants Pass. For many years she worked for First Baptist Church Child Care and other churches in the area. She also worked for Three Rivers School District transporting students to Greenleaf Industries for job skills training.

For many years, Mary attended First Assembly of God Church/ Parkway Christian Center where she was active in the choir and providing child care. More recently she attended Calvary Crossroads.

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and researching family genealogy.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jeff Oliphant of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Lydia Burgess of Rainier, Oregon; a son, Josiah Oliphant of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Donna Muller and Cathy Gray both of Bremerton, Washington; two brothers, Charlie Muller and Bob Muller both of Martinez, California; and a granddaughter, Vivian Burgess of Rainier, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Oliphant in 1992.

Her family wishes to specially thank her cousin, Rosie Uyeda who has given us the greatest gift imaginable, her tender and loving care.
