Martha Lillian Heisner

Martha Lillian Heisner, 90, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at her home. She drifted away while listening to the song “Over the Moon” from the dvd, Hawaiian Homecoming, by Bill Gaither & the Homecoming Friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M. on Friday, July 20, 2007 at Hull and Hull Funeral Directors.

Martha, who was also known as “Murph” and “Grandma”, was born on August 26, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Ridley Park High School in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania in June 1934 and in 1939 graduated from Bible Institute of Pennsylvania. On August 30, 1940 she married David Arnold Heisner, who preceded her in death in August of 1973. In 1947 she moved to Los Angeles California and in 1966 to Grants Pass. She worked as a bookkeeper, homemaker and rancher.

She was a member of Cascade Bible Fellowship. She volunteered with Pioneer Girls and Awana Youth Bible Clubs in churches. She also taught Release Time at Murphy Chapel.

She enjoyed ranching, raising cattle, doing crossword puzzles and watching Gaither Homecoming DVD’s. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events and watching them and the youth train at Wayne Owen Fighting Arts.

Survivors include her four daughters, Martha Jean Singh of Rancho Palos Verdes, California; Bunny Owen and Judith Lynn Dangelo, both of Grants Pass; and Ruth George Ann Mirth of Klamath Falls; and her son, David Charles Heisner of Grants Pass; sisters, Ruth, H. Stamboolian of Ocean City, New Jersey; Florence G. Voshell of Media, Pennsylvania; and Mary Dorothy “Dot” Selden of Silva, Missouri; two brothers, Charles W. Cox of Glendale, Arizona; and James McLaughlin of Clark’s Summit Glen, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Arnold Heisner; Deborah McNamee; Sherylyn Owen; Michael Owen; Michele Dollarhide; Renee Dangelo; McKenzie Heisner; Angelyn Dangelo; and Christopher Heisner; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany Dollarhide, Brandon Dollarhide and Austin Dangelo,. Her caregivers, Carol and Rex Nofziger; Sheryl Schilling; Arnold Heisner; Betty Conway; Jennifer and Nick Bolen; and Sarah and Sai Keidel.

In addition to her husband David Arnold Heisner, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Arlene Joy Heisner.
