Marshall George Moss

September 12, 1941 — February 13, 2012

Marshall George Moss, age 70, of Grants Pass, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at a local foster care home.

A memorial service will be at 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 27, 2012 at Newman United Methodist Church. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Marshall was born September 12, 1941 in Oakland California to George & Ann Moss. In 1960 in Palo Alto, California he married Jean Kaufman, they later divorced. On February 13, 1977 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada he married Pam McCroskey, they later divorced. He worked as a beautician and barber for Redkin Products and was one of the top three stylists in California in the 60’s and 70’s. As a wildlife photographer he worked on the movie “In The Shadow of Bigfoot” and he also worked with Marine World animals for promotional projects. In Portland, Oregon he co-founded Mr. Hot Dog Inc. hot dog carts. He moved from Portland, Oregon to Grants Pass 22 years ago. He was one of the founders of the Grants Pass Moose Lodge and owned and operated two barber shops and worked for several others for 17 years. He was also a professional lock smith and gun smith.

He was a member of Buzzard Roost Gang, putting on wild west shows throughout Northern California to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

His hobbies included photography, woodworking, fishing and gourmet cooking.

Survivors include two sons, James Moss of Grants Pass and Tom Moss of San Jose, California; a daughter, Pattie Moss of Redding, California and four grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his parents, George and Ann Moss.
