Mark Leslie Quist

Mark Leslie Quist, of Grants Pass, passed away on November 2nd, 2020 at the age of 70, surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 7th, 1950 in Gridley California. Mark was a talented athlete and played sports and enjoyed the great outdoors. He met his beautiful wife while attending Cordova High School. After graduating, he joined the Marine Reserves and served honorably. He married Margaret (Sheafe) on August 29th, 1970. They were blessed with 6 children. Matthew, Marcy, Michael, Mitchell, Melinda and Mandee, he loved them with all of his heart. Mark's greatest blessings are his 23 grandchildren.

Mark worked at Blomberg Windows in Sacramento, CA for 30 years. He was a very talented man creating hundreds of leaded glass windows at his own business - The Looking Glass. He was a licensed general contractor in California and Oregon. In 2008 Mark and Margaret moved to Grants Pass from Wilton, California. He was an excellent teacher and shared his skills with all of his sons and daughters. All of his boys had the opportunity to work with their father in construction.

Mark and Margaret were Innkeepers at the Historic Wolf Creek Inn for 6 years. Mark never stopped working and helped wherever he was needed. He took on the position of shipping manager at his son’s business as it started to grow at Stone Coat Countertops LLC. He worked there with many family members and friends.

Mark loved to serve the Lord and did so for his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in Young Men’s, taught Seminary, as a counselor in the Bishopric, and with the little children in Primary and Nursery.

He loved his family dearly and always left a place better for having been there. He loved to make people laugh, his laughter was contagious. He enjoyed sharing his stories and always taught in parables like the Savior. He learned to love the scriptures from his mother.

Mark’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, sports, music, and playing games with the family.
