Marion "Sue" Johnson

Marion “Sue” Johnson, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her home.

Services to celebrate her life will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Melissa Haugen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her honor to Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, 1801 Willamette Street Suite 200, Eugene, Oregon 97401 or Newman United Methodist Church, 132 NE B Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Sue was born August 11, 1916 in Duluth, Minnesota to Florence & Frank LeTourneau. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Minnesota where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She resided in Grants Pass since 1946. For 35 years she was married to William “Bill” Johnson, former Josephine County District Attorney, founding partner of Johnson, Telfer & Sloan law firm, and former Grants Pass High School board member and chair, who died in 1976.

Sue was a member of Newman United Methodist Church congregation since coming to Grants Pass. She was a former Josephine County Hospital board member, Planned Parenthood volunteer, and member of Josephine County Republican Women.

She is lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Nydia Johnson of Maumee, Ohio and Jean Hugus of Canton, Ohio; four children, Carol Federighi of Lafayette, California, Lynn Frohnmayer of Eugene, Oregon, Judith Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lawrence Johnson of Huntington Beach, California; seven grandchildren, Craig Federighi, Brent Federighi, Mark Frohnmayer, Jonathan Frohnmayer, Amy Frohnmayer, Christopher Johnson, and Sean Johnson; and four great-granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, William F. Johnson, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kathryn and Kristen Frohnmayer.
