Marilyn L. Maxwell

October 17, 1948 — March 13, 2020

Marilyn Louise Maxwell, age 71, of Grants Pass, died March 13, 2020 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Marilyn was born October 17, 1948 in San Francisco, California and grew up in Cupertino, California. Upon graduating from Fremont High School she attended beauty school. She stared working in San Jose upon graduation and loved her chosen career as a hairstylist. She felt that she was not only a good listener, but could help her clients through their journey of life. Marilyn went to many hair shows and continuing education classes, including those by Paul Mitchell. In July 2014, Marilyn decided to move to Grants Pass where she could semi-retire. After obtaining her Oregon Beautician license, she continued to work part-time.

Marilyn was a member of Bethel Church of San Jose where she loved to sing in the choir. During special performances, she was on the costume design team. While living in Grants Pass, she attended Parkway Christian Center.

Marilyn loved her cat and dogs. In her spare time, she loved to cook, entertain, and work with her hands including sewing costumes, paint, and counted cross-stich. Her latest painting was a beautiful diamond.


Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Leon Maxwell and MaryAnna Maxwell; brother Ronald Maxwell and sister Virginia Mattos.

She is survived by her brother David (Annette) Maxwell of Sunnyvale, California and sister Jane Sisco of Bakersfield, California.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
