Marilyn L. Jacobs

June 17, 1926 — May 22, 2008

Marilyn L. Jacobs, age 81, of Wilderville, passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital due to complications from a stroke.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Wilderville Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Chase officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Wilderville Community United Methodist Church, 7970 Redwood Highway, Wilderville, Oregon 97543 or a charity of choice.

Marilyn was born into this world on June 17, 1926 in Eureka, California to Ralph & Edna Gross. On September 13, 1948 she married John W. Jacobs in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Wilderville in 1958. Marilyn & John owned and operated Redwood Realty in Grants Pass from 1971 until their retirement in 1985.

Marilyn loved to travel visiting many places such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and Florida. She also loved to read, take walks on her ranch in Wilderville, crossword puzzles, game shows, playing cribbage and cards, and most especially family dinners and spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of United Methodist Women, was active in her church and enjoyed her Bible studies.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Jacobs of Wilderville; two daughters, Darlene Reed and Joella Jacobson both of Grants Pass; a son, John M. Jacobs of Grants Pass; a brother, Dr. Michael Fielding of Novato, California; two sisters, Kay Beach of Honolulu, Hawaii and Patricia Bettencourt of Veneta, Oregon; five grandchildren, Chris Reed, Matt Reed, Zane Jacobson, Thad Jacobson, and Ashley Jacobs; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Edna; her cousin, Doris Frei; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jacobs.
