Marie E. Hutchins, age 91, of Grants Pass, died January 28, 2020 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
Marie was born January 5, 1929 in Grants Pass to Franz & Nellie Schutzwohl. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1947. Marie worked as a bookkeeper at Fourply. Also, along with her husband, she owned and operated a gas station and tire shop at the corner of Ringuette Street and Highway 199 for over 20 years.
Marie was very active and loved to water ski at their home on the Rogue River. She also loved to snow and cross country ski at Mt. Bachelor, Crater Lake, Mt. Ashland and Park City, Utah. Marie also loved to dance and was a member of the Charlie Brown Squares, and for over ten years she enjoyed country western dancing with her longtime dance partner and close friend, Harold Coates.
Marie was a member of Rogue Area Senior Computer Assistance League (RASCAL); played weekly Domino games with friends; and was a member of Christian Singles at Parkway Christian Center where she attended church.
Survivors include daughter June Karen Pritchett; son Dale F. Hutchins and wife Kathy; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale R. Hutchins.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., February 17, 2020 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
