Marian May Smith

Marian May Smith, age 82, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, October 4, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

Born November 30, 1935 to Philip and Sadie Blood in Spirit Lake Idaho. Marian grew up the middle child of a 'bakers dozen'. She often spoke of the hard work that came from being in a large family and having to sleep multiple kids in a bed. Mostly though, she was filled with happy stories and silly jokes that she and her sibling would tell. She loved to laugh and could be found in a crowd by the sounds of her laughter filling the room. Marian married Clifford Lee Smith on October 5, 1956 in Spirit Lake, Idaho and they enjoyed 61 years together. She had many hobbies such as sewing, knitting and gardening. Most of all, she loved to fish. She would tell stories of fishing trips and gave Cliff plenty of helpful hints on how to drive the fishing boat. Marian's family celebrates as she joins Cliff in a Heavenly Home for their 62nd Anniversary.

Children: Neal Lee Smith of Grants Pass; Shelley Yvonne Schorzman of Grants Pass; Sondra DeAnn Browne of Springfield OR.
Siblings: (sisters) Patsy Budd and Gladys Storaasli; (brothers) Clyde Blood; Leon Blood and Virgil Blood.
Grandchildren: Jessica Melear
Great grandchildren: Olivia Melear, Silas Melear and Juda Melear.

Siblings (sisters) Margaret Jobes; Lorena Hauck; Phyllis Low; Berniece LaClaire; (brothers) Philip Blood Jr.; Dallas Blood. Grandchildren: Brianne and Brittany Smith

A viewing will begin at 2:30 p.m. and a Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
