Margaret Victoria Pendergrass

July 16, 1921 — May 10, 2008

Margaret Victoria Pendergrass, 86, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born Margaret Victoria Weger on July 16, 1921 in Glendale, California to Henry and Alice Charnley Weger. She graduated from Hoover High School and attended Glendale Junior College. On October 11, 1940 in Los Angeles, California she married Paul Homer Bowman. She worked for Security Title Insurance Company in San Luis Obispo, California. She later worked as an escrow officer, and later for Dr. C. J. Moser in Grants Pass for five years. She retired and moved to Woodland Hills, California. Paul preceded her in death on May 28, 1964. On April 8, 1968 she married Morrel D. Hutton and soon moved to Grants Pass. They were divorced in 1968. In June of 1969 she met Allen A. Pendergrass and they were married on June 12, 1971.

She was a life member of the Rogue Valley Humane Society and the Josephine County Historical Society and a member of the Grants Pass Genealogical Society and a past president. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 26 of Grants Pass, Savage Street Church of Christ and the SPCA of Josephine County.

Her special joy in life was her pets. She enjoyed having pets all her life. She loved flowers and taking care of her home. She also enjoyed her genealogical research and her work with the Humane Society of Josephine County and the Josephine County Historical Society.

In addition to her husband Allen A. Pendergrass of Grants Pass; survivors include her sons, Kenneth Paul Bowman of Mist, Oregon; and James Craig Bowman of Eagle Point, Oregon; step- children, Ronald Pendergrass and Jean Pendergrass, both of Grants Pass; Joyce Pendergrass of Salem; and Alan Pendergrass of Brush Prairie, Washington; her sister, Marion E. Weger of Sacramento, California; her brother, Robert Weger of Glendale, California; and 13 grandchildren.
