Margaret S. Rupp, age 90, of Roseburg, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Rose Haven Nursing Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born November 3, 1918 in Lebanon, Indiana to Chester & Agnes (Francisco) Abston. She graduated from high school in Los Angeles and studied accounting at college in Sacramento. On January 15, 1988 in Reno, Nevada she married Robert Marlon Rupp. After most of her working years employed as a bookkeeper, she took a job as a hostess in Reno for four years and really enjoyed it. She moved from Davis, California to Roseburg 20 years ago. Together with her daughter, she operated Bears & More in Canyonville selling craft items. She enjoyed making the bear outfits.

She was a member of Eastern Star and Apartment Managers Association and volunteered her time doing bookkeeping and secretarial work for the association.

Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Whitehouse of Myrtle Creek; two sons, Howard Davidson of Auburn, California and Charles Stein of Indianapolis, Indiana; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
