Margaret Marie Eschwege

Margaret Marie Eschwege, 92 passed away on March 16,. 2012 in Grants Pass, Oregon. Services will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.

Born February 28, 1920 in San Francisco. She grew up in Escondido California where her family raised Avocados and Oranges. She played the cello as a young woman. She worked during WWII in the aircraft industry as an airplane inspector.

Later she met Jim Eschwege and married on October 12, 1944. She attended college and graduated from beauty school and worked as a beautician for several years. Margaret and Jim were the founding owners of Valley Box Company where she worked for many years.

Her favorite pass time was sailing a large sailboat, racing it in the San Diego area, and was a long time member of South Western Yacht Club. She raced boats with her husband Jim throughout her life, well into her 80s.

She moved to Grants Pass Oregon in 2010 to be with her daughter. She is survived by her brother Walter Crossman, her son Robert Eschwege, daughter Barbara Torbert, grand daughters Alicia Eschwege, Molly and Megan Torbert and many nieces and nephews.
