Margaret "Margo" Stevenson

November 1, 1926 — August 30, 2020

Margaret “Margo” Stevenson, age 93, of Cave Junction, died August 30, 2020 at her home.

Margaret grew up strong, and played hockey with one of Hughenden’s first all-girls hockey teams.

After graduation she moved to Edmonton, where she met and married Bill Stevenson. Their son Blair was born while they were in Edmonton. They later moved to California where they lived for many decades. Her husband Bill passed away in 1992.

Margaret has worked a variety of jobs over the years, most recently as a teacher’s assistant. Always young at heart herself when she retired the young people she worked with gave her many cards expressing their appreciation for her kindness and that she would be missed. Margaret moved to Oregon to be close to Blair in 2006.

Here in the Illinois Valley we knew her as “Margo”. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she was a serious Bible student and followed the example of Christ in preaching the Good News of the Kingdom. Margo had a sparkle as a faithful sister serving her God Jehovah reaching out to people as a friend.

Her Friendship was a great gift to us and will be missed by many. However, we can look forward to seeing her again because God has appointed Jesus to raise the dead. These words can be found in the Gospel John 5:25) “Most truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live” And that’s a promise Margaret “Margo” Stevenson believed.

Memorial will be Saturday September 19, 2020 at 1PM
