Margaret Hunsaker

Margaret Worlton Hunsaker, age 81, of Hugo, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at her home.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Merlin Ward with Bishop Ken Guerra officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born August 1, 1928 in Lehi, Utah the 7th of eight children to Essie Goates and William Worlton. She attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah where she met Leon Martin Hunsaker. They were married June 10, 1947 in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1976 they moved from San Rafael, California to Hugo.

Margaret was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Hugo Ladies Club, where she served as president two different times for a total of five years. She was also a charter member of Mountain Stars Quilt Guild and was an active member in her church all her life.

She loved to read and do crossword puzzles but her real passion was quilting for which she won many ribbons at the Josephine County Fair and elsewhere. She enjoyed teaching and passing her love of quilting on to her family, friends, and students.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Hunsaker of Hugo, Oregon; four children, Claudia Roskelley of Hugo, Oregon, Martin Hunsaker of Kaysville, Utah, Elizabeth Dastrup of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, and Art Hunsaker of Kaysville, Utah; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
