Maeola Elizabeth "Mae Mae" Quinn

September 28, 1928 — October 5, 2010

Maeola Elizabeth “Mae Mae” Quinn, age 82, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday evening, October 5, 2010 at Three Rivers Community Hospital. She was surrounded by family and friends at her bedside when God invited her home and she is now finally at peace.

Mae Mae was born September 28, 1928 in Logan, North Dakota.

She was a world traveler and enjoyed doing many different things in her life. One of her favorite things to do was fishing in waders. She fished as much as possible and enjoyed fishing from charter boats.

Mae Mae is survived by four sisters. She was loved dearly by all who knew her. She had an extra large loving family and uncountable friends. Her darling dog, Fritzy Boy, was the apple of her eye.

She also loved her flowers and garden. She enjoyed volunteering at the VFW where she gave 40 to 60 hours a week of her time, dedication, support, and love. Over the years, she was honored as donor of the year, citizen of the year, and received many certificates of appreciation.

She was a mother to the world and friend to all. She was a strong-willed woman; giving; loving; and our dear Mae Mae will be forever missed.

Her late husband, Herb, who was a Navy man, brought extreme joy to her life for many years and now they will be together once again.

As Mae Mae would say and God wrote “I am always with you” – Matthew 28:20.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. A celebration of her life and potluck will immediately follow at The Grange Hall, 1830 Redwood Avenue, Grants Pass. Please bring a favorite dish for the potluck. For any questions, please call Pam at 530-318-1377.

A private family service will be held at the ocean that she so loved. Her ashes will be sprinkled out in the ocean with her favorite flowers, peonies.

Memorial donations may be made Mae E. Quinn Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 205 NE 6th St, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526. Any extra funds not used for service and celebration of life will be donated to the local VFW.
