Mae H. Ruesch, age 86, of Grants Pass, died Monday, August 11, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Janelle Aldrich-Dale officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born Mae Harriet Hammer on December 1, 1921 in Kathryn, North Dakota. She was raised on a farm and graduated from high school in Enderlin, North Dakota in 1939. She graduated from Minneapolis Business College and worked as a bookkeeper at Ed Phillips & Sons Company and Zinsmaster Baking Company both in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On March 8, 1945 at Richfield Lutheran Church in Minneapolis she married Lloyd Ruesch. In 1948 she moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin where they raised their family and lived for 24 years before moving to Denver, Colorado. In 1983 they moved from Denver to Grants Pass.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in Stitchcrafters and visiting and bringing food to the sick.
Her hobbies included writing cards and letters, playing cards and games, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to dance during her younger years.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Ruesch of Grants Pass; two daughters Kathleen Carlson and her husband Don of Redmond and Carol Johnson and her husband Mark of Eugene; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Orin Hammer and sisters, Gladys Hammer and Ruth Erickson.
