Lylah Rene Brown

September 5, 2014 — November 16, 2017

Lylah Rene' Brown, 3 years old, of Grants Pass, died November 16, 2017 at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.

Lylah or as most of you know her 'BUG' was diagnosed with Lissencephaly and 1p36 deletion syndrome shortly after birth. She was a fighter her whole life. In and out of the hospital her smile and laugh always outweighed the tears.

She couldn't walk or talk or do most things a typical 3-year-old could but she lived life to the fullest. She was thriving in therapies walking the halls in her walker. Her absolute favorite toys were Beatbo and ABC Elmo. She loved playing hide and seek with a blanket, music and dancing. Whether at grandma’s house, a friends or camping, she got her bath and hair blow dried every single night. It was her favorite time of day. She would kick her crazy legs the second the water turned on. She gave the best kisses with her mouth wide open and snuggled day and night.

Lylah taught us to live each day as it was our last. To never take a minute for granted. To treasure the small things and to make time for the ones you love. She was our miracle, our fighter, our hero! Her memory will remain forever and her story will continue to teach us the true meaning of love.

Lylah is survived by her mom and dad Ricky and Bryanna Brown, her soon to be baby sister, her paternal grandparents Vickie Vidlak & Rick Brown, paternal great grandparents Sharon and Vince Vidlak, Karen and Terry Brown. Her maternal grandma Danielle Borjas Castro. Maternal great grandma Laurie Merrifield. Her Aunts Shannyn Lauer, Emilie Brown, Christa and Hannah Wirkkala and her Uncles Zachary and Caleb Wirkkala and many many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Lylah Memorial Fund to pay it forward to other families with children in need.

A celebration of Lylah’s life will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center.
