Lulu M. Ivy, age 74, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at a hospital in Yuma, Arizona.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Lulu was born December 24, 1937 in Eureka, California to John & Mary Archer. In 1955 she graduated from Monterey Bay Academy and attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, California for a short time. On August 25, 1957 in what is now St. Helena, California she married Jack C. Ivy. She became a housewife raising two children. In April 1965 she moved from Salinas, California to Grants Pass. Along with having their own children they were also foster parents. In 1981, they started Caveman Heating & Air. Lulu managed the office until they sold the business and retired in December 1993. The two began their life as snowbirds traveling to Yuma, Arizona during the winters.

Lulu was a member of Josephine County Search and Rescue for over 28 years and North Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She also volunteered for Red Cross.

Her hobbies included crossword puzzles and exploring flowers in the desert.

Survivors include her husband, Jack C. Ivy of Grants Pass; a son, Jerry Ivy of Enterprise, Oregon; a daughter, Linda Ivy of Walla Walla, Washington; a brother, Don Archer of Redding, California; and four grandchildren.

A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
