Loyd D. Voice

Loyd D. Voice, age 74, of Cave Junction, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Loyd was born February 17, 1937 in Lovell, Wyoming to Maurice & Theda Voice and was raised there. On August 5, 1985 in Byron, Wyoming he married Louise Halstead. He was a hard worker all his life, working different jobs including in the Wyoming oil fields. In December 1999 after his retirement, he moved from Lander, Wyoming to Cave Junction to live closer to Louise’s family and to enjoy the warmer climate.

His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and small engine repair. He was known for his great sense of humor and for his quiet service to others. He enjoyed helping others including chopping wood for the elderly and using his tractor to clear the road for neighbors.

In addition to his wife, Louise Voice of Cave Junction, Oregon; he is survived by three children; and two stepchildren; and a grandson.
