Louise Marion Nab

Louise “Lou” Marion Nab, 77, of Lakeside, Oregon died Wednesday, May 3, in her home.
She was surrounded by her loving husband Albert V Nab and friends Suzy Marcy and Shirley Mc Mahon of Lakeside who had been helping care for Lou throughout her battle with cancer. Dunes Memorial Chapel of Reedsport handled the final arrangements.

The family will be doing a graveside Gathering at 11 a.m. Sunday May 28th to lay her to rest here in Grants Pass in the upper part (family maintained section) of Granite Hill Cemetery. As is our tradition, we will be having a “Pot Luck” memorial celebration at 1 p.m., held at her good friends Richard & Carolyn Cotter’s home at 4887 Lower River Rd., Grants Pass, Any questions contact Kathy Havens 761-2011 or Helen Havens 476-1605.

“Lou” was born the only girl of 4 children to parents George Storms (Sr.) and Alma Storms in Pasaic, New Jersey on October 15, 1928. As a young woman Louise was a fashion model prior to marrying her 1st husband Herbert Havens while still in New Jersey. They had 5 children while working their way west to finally settle in Grants Pass Oregon in 1964 were she worked as a sales assistant for The Golden Rule Store down town. Ever the entrepreneur Louise proudly worked as an independent owner of different business’s from her home while still caring for her children, companies like Sara Coventry Jewelry, Raleigh Home Products, Fuller Brush and most recently Ameriplan USA.

In 1982 she married Albert “Al” Nab of Grants Pass, who survives. They both were active members of the Eagles Club. They moved to Lakeside Oregon in 1998 “to get out of the heat” where they could pursue their love of ocean and lake fishing, crabbing and camping with their many friends and family

“Lou” was an avid yard/garage sale bargain hunter (always getting the rock bottom prices), she enjoyed crossword & jigsaw puzzles (most recently on the internet). Christmas was her favorite time of year, Lou and Al would start decorating (she directing” Pop”) their home on the day after Thanksgiving with thousands of lights and holiday scenes. Most of all she Loved having family and friends coming to visit or stay anytime. Her home has always been the hang out for kids & the young at heart alike.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters Helen Havens, Kathy Havens and son Robert “Bob” Havens and their families, all of Grants Pass. Brother’s John Storms of North Highlands CA. and Albert Storms of Sacramento CA., 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded to the promised land by oldest daughters Linda (Linny) L Tryon, 1999, and Patricia “Tricia” Hammer, 2005 also her brother George Storms Jr. 2005.
