Lorraine (Rainie) Delores Farm

August 4, 1927 — April 1, 2015

A Life well lived-

Lorraine (Rainie) Delores Farm was born to Lawrence and Beulah Reed on August 4, 1927 in Los Angeles, California. An accomplished pianist by age ten, she was chosen to play piano in the Shirley Temple movie, Little Miss Broadway. It became one of her fondest childhood memories.

Rainie came of age during the war years as a proud American and met the love of her life, Joel Farm, while he was on leave from the Air Force. They were married on November 17, 1946. They eventually settled in Woodland Hills, California, and raised four children: Devon, Cindy, Jeff, and Marcy.

Rainie loved adventure and with that she traveled to many places in the world, London being one of her favorites. At eighty-three, she organized the consummate family reunion, taking her four children, eight grandchildren, all their spouses, and eight great-grandchildren on a cruise to Mexico that none of them will ever forget.

Rainie and Joel retired to Grants Pass in 1981, and became active members of Calvary Lutheran Church, a practice Rainie continued following Joel's passing in 2007.

She was a member of the church's Stitch Crafters, organized a singles social group, and worked tirelessly at the annual holiday bazaar. She had served on the church council for Music and Worship and was active in many Bible Studies.

At eighty, she became a Stephen Minister, providing Christ-centered care to people in need. She also volunteered for many years in the obstetrics unit of Three Rivers Hospital and served on the board of Lovejoy Hospice.

She had a great love for music and theater and supported the many events offered in her own community. This is a love she passed on to her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She also loved to entertain family and friends in her home.

Rainie passed away on April 1, 2015, surrounded by the love of her family.

A memorial service honoring her will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church on August 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Those who knew her will remember Rainie's joyous and infectious laugh. It kept her forever young and will forever preserve her memory in our hearts. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Devon Holder, Cindy and Don Isley, Jeff and Lis Farm, and Marcy and Craig Backhus. Her grandchildren, David and Angie Johnson, Patrice and Darrell Wasill, Matt and Lindsay Johnson, Dennis and Melissa Johnson, Kris and Beth Farm, Casey Farm, Kyle Backhus, and Alec Backhus. Also her twelve great grandchildren.
