Lori Jane Hammond

Lori was born in Blue Island, Illinois on February 8th, 1958 to Evelyn and Earl Hammond. She had an older sister Leila and an older brother Larry. She grew up and went to school in Simi Valley, California. Later, during high school the family moved to Sunny Valley, Oregon. After Lori graduated high school, she returned to California again where she met Jon Katana the father of her daughter, Carrielynn. The family returned to Oregon to raise their daughter. Lori gave birth to Carrielynn in Grants Pass, Oregon in November of 1982. Lori and Jon worked and raised their daughter, they decided to split up after a few years but always remained friends. Lori later worked at various places as a cashier, secretary, gas station attendant, driver and a nail technician. In 2008 she met her person/partner in life Jayme Baker. They loved to garden, ride motorcycles, travel, cook and do life together. In 2017, her grandson was born. Lincoln was her favorite gift! One of Loris favorite hobbies was raising puppies for people as well as growing the garden where she made the best salsa, all grown from seed. She really enjoyed spending time with her daughter and her grandson. Her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter. She enjoyed giving gifts and creating homemade baskets every year. She loved Christmas light shows and making Christmas treats. Lori was compassionate, loving and had the most incredible laugh. Lori had an amazing sense of humor and unforgettable voice. She will be forever missed.


A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., January 24, 2020 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
