Lois H. Culver, age 92, of Grants Pass, died peacefully at home, Friday, August 5, 2011.
Lois was born February 20, 1919 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her family moved to Vernonia, Oregon and on to Longview, Washington where she spent her childhood. At the end of World War II she lived in Japan for six months and then moved to Southern California where in 1950 she married Howard Culver, radio and television personality. She taught painting, decorative arts, and co-owned a hobby shop. Howard died in 1984 and in 1993 Lois moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Lois was instrumental in forming OTR (Old Time Radio) Chat Channel on the internet. She enjoyed traveling to Central American, South America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and the South Pacific. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, sunshine, her bird, and her family.
Lois is survived by her brother, Ed Hayes of Longview, Washington; twin daughters, Patti Culver and Kathi Culver both of Cave Junction, Oregon; and five grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
