Linda Louisa Farris

November 21, 1948 — March 8, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Louisa Farris (Cook) announces her passing on March 8, 2018.

Linda was born to Donald and Edith Cook in Eugene, OR on November 21, 1948. She grew up in Ophir, OR and attended school in Gold Beach, OR, and moved to Samoa, CA in 1966, where she met her late husband, Lee Farris. They married in Reno, NV in 1967 and celebrated the birth of their only child, Brandy, in 1972. The family lived in Arcata, CA before moving to Glendale, OR in 1976, and finally settled in Grants Pass in 1992.

Linda’s greatest joys in life came from spending time with her family. She spent many years as a homemaker, and worked as both a bakery/deli service manager and a housekeeper before her retirement in 2007. She was an active administrator with the online Josephine County Scanner Group, and took great pride in an opportunity to help serve her community from home. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness were felt by everyone around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandy (and son-in-law Donald) of Grants Pass; and her two grandchildren, Taylor of Portland and Brandon of Grants Pass; her sister, Anna (and brother-in-law Jerry) of Cave Junction, OR; her brother, Dondi of Fairbanks, AK; and her beloved feline, Kitty. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee.

Linda’s family will be honoring her life at a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park (945 NE Hillcrest Dr) on Saturday, March 24th at 11am.
