Leslie "Bud" Peterson

March 18, 1938 — March 8, 2009

Leslie “Bud” Peterson, age 70, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his home.

No services are planned. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Asante Hospice, 1505 NW Washington Blvd, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

He was born March 18, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Leslie & Edna (Parker) Peterson. He attended Montebello High School until the 10th grade. In 1960 in Los Angeles, he married Shirley Allison Roberts and they later divorced. In 1961 he was inducted into the United States Army spending time in Germany & Fort Riley, Kansas and was discharged in 1963. In 1970 in Los Angeles he married Sharon Rose Corronus and they were later divorced. In 1984 he moved to La Mesa, California where he met Bonnie Lorene Kerley and they were married in 1986 in San Diego. She died in 1996. He worked as a shower door installer most of his working years. In 2008 he moved from La Mesa to Grants Pass to be with family.

He belonged to the La Mesa District VFW and the American Legion Post in Grants Pass.

He enjoyed camping and fishing with friends in the Sierra’s. He loved working in his garden and fixing up his home, playing cards and going to Wong’s Dragon Room in La Mesa to socialize with his friends.

Survivors include his sister, Betty L. Block of Grants Pass; a niece, Patti A. Voges of Grants Pass; four nephews, John L. Unger of Shingletown, California, Daniel A. Unger of Chico, California, Bradley A. Hewitt of Provo, Utah, and Mark W. Hewitt of Covina, California.

In addition to his wife, Bonnie Peterson, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lewis W. Hewitt.
