Leo Joseph Horak

Leo Joseph Horak, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Leo was born May 15, 1922 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Stella & Joseph Horak. On October 10, 1942 at the Church of the Assumption in St. Paul, Minnesota he married Henrietta Henselin. From October 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945 he served in the United States Army. Leo lived in Brainerd, Minnesota before moving to St. Cloud, Minnesota where he worked for Coca-Cola. He then lived in Spring Valley, California and worked as a carpenter. In 1965 he moved to Grants Pass and retired in 1980.

He enjoyed taking his travel trailer up to the lakes for the summer, fishing, and working in his shop.

In addition to his wife, Henrietta of Grants Pass; survivors include two sons, Tom of Grants Pass and Bill of Springfield; two grandchildren, Colin of Washington and Maryann of Sweet Home; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kelly, Cameron and Kayla.
