Lapriel Arlene Anderson Lebaron Wignall

December 23, 1918 — April 19, 2014

LaPriel Arlene Anderson LeBaron Wignall, age 95, passed away peacefully April 19, 2014, at home in Williams, Oregon.

Private services have been held. Private interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born December 23, 1918 in Oak City, Utah, to Joseph Elmer and Arlene Marie Trumbo Anderson. She was raised in Oak City and Salt Lake City, Utah, graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, where she was involved in music and singing in choirs that she loved so much. She attended Brigham Young University, where she met and married Owen D. LeBaron from Canada. They were the parents of eight children: Larry, Arlene, Elaine, Ronald, Phyllis, Daniel, David, and Hyrum. In 1960 she married Sargeant Wignall, to whom our younger sister, Cindy, was born.

The family moved to the colonies in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1946 and spent 9 years there, during which time Daniel, David, and Hyrum were born. They returned to the United States in 1955.

LaPriel worked at the Utah State Hospital in Provo for many years in patient services, leader of patient council, also in taking patient panels around the state of Utah to high schools for presentations. She loved her work, and she was much loved by those whom she served.

She lived in Riverside, California, for a time after she retired, and then moved to southern Oregon, where she bought a little home in the woods that she loved so much. She sang in a choir for several years with other senior citizens, giving much service at nursing homes and in other ways with her music.

We, as a family, extend a huge thank you and appreciation that can’t be measured for the services and special, loving care by her daughter, Arlene, and granddaughter, Nisha, these last few years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister, and her sons, Ronald and Hyrum. She is survived by seven of her children and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love her so much and are going to miss her, but we know that there is a great reunion on the other side of the veil, where loved ones are so happy to see her and greet her.
