Kenneth C Goodrich

Kenneth C. Goodrich, age 93, of Grants Pass, Oregon died on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at his home.

He was born on December 27, 1922, in Whitley County, Indiana to Leroy and Ruth (Ramsey) Goodrich. His formative years were spent in the Columbia City area, and he graduated from Washington Center High School.

Kenneth served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953.

On September 17, 1949, he married Leola Hile and together they had five children.

He primarily worked in commercial construction and was a residential contractor.

He was actively involved with A.R.E., theosophy study groups and was a co-founder of the Wisdom Center. He enjoyed time performing with the Barnstormers and volunteering at Wildlife Images. He was known around Grants Pass as “The Book Man” and later as “The Walnut Man.”

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Leola; sons, Norman Goodrich and Roger (Mary) Goodrich of Grants Pass; daughters, Susan L’Esperance of Columbia City, Indiana, Debra (Jeff) Westling of Beloit, Wisconsin, and Kathy Ramsey of LaCrescent, Minnesota; brother, Gerald (Gwen) Goodrich of Bonne Terre, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fay, Orville, Keith, Harold and Clyde Goodrich; sisters, Zovelda Andris and Hazel Slater; and great-granddaughters, Destiny and Vanessa Weisbrod.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Riviera Mobile Home Park Clubhouse in Grants Pass at 1:30 p.m.

A private Interment will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wildlife Images in Grants Pass, Oregon.
