March 11, 1963 — March 22, 2007

Ken Feriante Jr, 44, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Rogue Valley Medical Center after 35 days in the hospital following a motorcycle accident on February 15, 2007.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2007 at River Valley Community Church with The Reverend Doctor Randel Livingood of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church officiating. A reception will follow. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Ken was born March 11, 1963 in San Mateo, California. In 1985 he moved from San Mateo County to Beaverton. On July 25, 1992 in Reno, Nevada he married Sheryl Stephens. In January 1999 they moved from Beaverton to Grants Pass.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Oregon Veterans Motorcycle Association, and was in the process of becoming a member of Sons of God Motorcycle Club.

He volunteered his time with the Josephine County Humane Society.

Ken was a fun person, loved being silly, and loved to make people laugh. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target shooting, but never hunting because of his love for animals. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and hockey, where he rooted for the San Francisco 49ers and the New Jersey Devils. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, dirt bike riding, and motorcycle riding. In 2006 he realized his longtime dream of owning a Harley when he purchased a Harley Heritage. Ken enjoyed working on his cars and trucks and poured months and years into customizing his Chevy Blazer. He built a high performance engine and rewired the entire electrical system after an electrical fire. Ken was most importantly a family man and a good friend. He especially loved his dogs Rocky, Lucky, Beatrice, and Allie that were also part of the family.

Survivors include his wife of almost 15 years, Sheryl Feriante of Grants Pass; his father, Ken Feriante Sr of Manchester, California; a sister, Michelle Villanti of Milwaukie, Oregon; a brother, Gino Feriante of The Dalles; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Justin, Audrey, Renada, Rebekka, Andrea, Carmen, Bryan and Kyla; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Braydon, Jared, Hannah, Mateah, and Ivan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Elliott.
