Ken Edwards, 56, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Portland.

A family graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens Monday, August 13, 2007 at 1:30 PM. A public Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Grants Pass Community Church, 3191 Russell Road, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born September 13, 1950 to Aubrey Eugene and Pauline Eloise (Trethewey) Edwards in Pasadena, California. He graduated from Monte Vista High School in Whittier, California. On January 28, 1973 in Gardena, California he married the former Janice Eileen Elwell. Ken earned his Bachelor’s in Education Degree from Cal State Fullerton. He also attained his basic teaching California credential; lifetime California credential; Washington teaching credential; and Administration teaching credential. He taught public school in Orange County and Christian school in San Fernando Valley until moving to Seattle, Washington in 1979. There he taught multi grades in a private Christian School for one year. He also worked for Ohio Medical, supplying medical gases to hospitals and medical offices. He later worked for The Boeing Company as a purchasing agent. Even when his own illness limitations made it difficult to work, he served part-time at the Seattle/Tacoma International Airport assisting passengers with wheelchairs.

Ken was a lay pastor and elder for The Living Word Fellowship for 35 years. The love of his life was working with God’s Word and family. He was also a musician and loved worship. With his wife he enjoyed teaching children in the Living Word Church Fellowship.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Edwards of Grants Pass; his mother, Pauline Eloise MacDuffie and step father Harry of Medford, Oregon; three sisters, Cheryl (Thom) Mennonna of Santa Clarita, California, Judy (Ron) Maas of Whittier, California, and Jean (Gary) Vinson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
