When she retired, she moved to Morgan Hill, California where she met Robert Watson. After they were married, they moved to Grants Pass in 1995 to be near her sisters.

June was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Red Hat Society.

She especially enjoyed travel, music and sewing.

Survivors include her sister, Peggy McCormick; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Watson; son, Dennis King; brother Ronald Neilsen; and two sisters, Hally Towne and Faye Cline.
