June was born to William & Zella Hodson on June 1, 1923 in Glengary, Oregon, nine miles south of Roseburg. She grew up in Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School. At the end of the war, she moved back to Roseburg where she raised her two daughters and worked at LaVerns Dress Shop. After divorcing in 1959, she married the late Curtis Williams in 1961 and moved to Grants Pass. While in Grants Pass she worked at Hadleys Dress Shop and in ladies wear at the Golden Rule Department Store until her retirement in the mid 1970s.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Roseburg and First Baptist Church in Grants Pass.
