Judson "Jud" Scott Morgan Jr.

January 24, 1929 — August 19, 2021

Judson “Jud” Scott Morgan, Jr. of Grants Pass, OR. peacefully passed away in the early morning on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Three Ls Adult Foster Care facility in Grants Pass, OR. He was 92.

Born in Williamsport, PA. on January 24th, 1929, Jud grew-up in a turbulent time during World War II. As a youth, he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout badge at Camp Kline in Ramsey, PA, just north of Jersey Shore, PA. He was an active “outdoorsman” and loved to camp, hike, canoe, sail, fish and hunt. Shortly after graduating High School, Jud enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and became an allied radio operator during the Korean War. He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan, where he met the love of his life, Sayoko “Judy.” The pair met at the Chase Manhattan Bank in the Washington Heights (Shibuya, Tokyo) U.S. Air Force housing complex where Judy worked as a bank teller. Jud resided in the military housing complex and cashed his military pay check at the Chase Manhattan Bank. Jud and Judy were married on October 13th, 1956 and shortly after their wedding, they moved to Philadelphia, PA. and then, Levittown, PA. Jud went to work for, then, computer giant I.B.M. (International Business Machines) as a Field Service Technician and within a short time, Jud became a Father with the birth of her first child, a daughter, Debby. Subsequently, Judy bore two sons, Art and Mitch. After living in Eastern Pennsylvania for many years, Jud was relocated to Stuttgart, Germany in 1971 where the family lived for 4 years in Maichingen, Germany. The family returned to the U.S. in 1975 and returned to the Eastern Pennsylvania town of Exton, PA. After over 30 years of dedicated service, Jud retired from I.B.M. and Jud and Judy moved to Grants Pass, OR. to live out the rest of their lives. Judy passed away on January 8th, 2012 and now, they have both reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven. He was adored and loved by many and will always be remembered for his jovial character, loving heart and giving nature.

In his spare time, Jud enjoyed reading books about vitamins, holistic medicines and alternatives to costly medications. He actively implemented what he learned into his own diet and his health was top notch until the very end. Jud was a great Grandfather to his one and only granddaughter, Gillian and he enjoyed playing with her as well as doing arts and crafts projects, when she was younger. Luckily, Gillian was able to enjoy 11 years with Grandpa Jud and she was fortunate to have seen him in early July 2021, prior to his passing. Jud also enjoyed traveling and visiting the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville, OR. and the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, OR. with his wife, Judy. They will now share the Pacific Ocean as one, again.

Jud led a long, rewarding, fulfilling and simple life and is survived by his beloved Daughter, Debby, Sons, Art and Mitch, Daughter-in-laws, Arleen and Sabrina, and Granddaughter, Gillian. He was a devoted and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend.

Per Jud’s final wishes, no public funeral or memorial service will be held. He asked that his body be cremated and his remains spread in the Pacific Ocean where his wife’s, Sayoko, ashes were spread in 2012 during a private Family memorial celebration. On behalf of the entire Morgan Family, we’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to Tiffany and Joshua Udell at the Three Ls Adult Foster Care Facility for comforting and caring for Jud during his final moments here on earth.

Jud will be sorely missed by everyone he knew and touched. We love you forever, Jud (Dad)!
