Joseph W. Viveiros

Joseph W. Viveiros, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned.

Joseph was born February 8, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Joseph & Beatrice (Wager) Viveiros. He served in the United States Navy before attending school to become a Steam Engineer for an aerospace career. He retired after 22 years with Allied Signal (formerly Garrett). In 1991 after his retirement, he moved from San Pedro, California to Grants Pass, Oregon where he lived and served the community with various handyman and volunteer duties.

For 18 years he volunteered with Coalition for Kids.

Survivors include a son, Joseph C. Viveiros; a daughter, Gloria F. Wyatt; two sisters, Annie Soroka and Dorothy Badner; a brother, Francis Viveiros; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria M. Viveiros and a daughter, Beatrice Viveiros.
