John Henry Dean

John Henry Dean was born on April 16, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to Miles & Lillian Dean. He died in his home in Grants Pass on Thursday, July 31, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Dean; brother, Jerry Dean; and sister, June Fox.

He is survived by daughters, Sandra Moon, Sherri Dean, Genie Dean and son, Russell Dean (Tamara); grandchildren, Jeffrey Moon, Lena List, Sara Massengale, Giovanna Dean, Corean Dean, Crystal Dean and Daniel Snyder; a sister, Joyce Lerch and brothers, Robert Dean and Ron Dean.

John was raised on the family farm where he loved to ride horses with his brothers. While served in the USAF he met his bride of 38 years, Pauline Melancon. They raised their family in Paramount, California. John worked at Rockwell North American for 10 years. He was co-owner of D&M’s Motorcycle Salvage in Santa Ana, California until he retired and moved to his beloved Grants Pass.

Here he belonged to the Eagles and loved to play pool.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
