John Anthony Stover

John Anthony Stover, age 64, of Cave Junction, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his home.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

John was born August 23, 1945 in Naples, Italy. He later moved to Portland, Maine where he graduated from high school and then participated in a local television show called the 13s. On October 19, 1964 he joined the United States Air Force and was discharged on June 25, 1965. He married Nancy Bray and they later divorced. John lived in many places before eventually moving from Texas to Gold Hill, Oregon in 1980. He moved to Cave Junction eight years ago. While living in Cave Junction, he attended Rogue Community College where he volunteered by organizing club activities; worked at Rough and Ready Lumber as a night watchman; attended Illinois Valley Praise Center; and was a pastor for Rose of Sharon Occasions and performed marriage ceremonies.

His hobbies included hiking, movies, spending time in the outdoors, and camping.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Stover and Mason Stover both of Sebastian, Florida; his mother, Maria Ciazzo of Portland, Maine; and two brothers, Vito Ciazzo and Jerry Stover both of Portland, Maine.
