Joe Jeannette Dickson, age 84, of Azalea, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Providence Medford Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Azalea Community Church (362 Upper Cow Creek Road) with Pastor Wayne Mick officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born February 6, 1929 in Winters, Texas to Ace & Ethel (Finch) Rollin. At age nine, she moved with her family to Imperial Beach, California. In 1972 she returned to school and received her high school diploma through adult education. She attended electrolysis school in Los Angeles, California and after completing her schooling was self-employed for ten years until her loss of vision forced her to medically retire. In 1995 she moved from Garden Grove, California to Azalea, OR.

She was a member of Azalea Community Church.

Her hobbies included crocheting coat hanger covers for everyone in the family and nearly everyone she met in Douglas County. She also enjoyed ceramics for over 60 years.

Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Dickson of Azalea, Oregon; seven children, Robert A. Dickson of Corona, California, Charles W. Dickson of Redmond, Washington, George P. Dickson, Jeannette Rupp, Brian J.N. Dickson, Thomas E. Dickson and Robert T. Rupp all of Azalea, Oregon; three brothers, Jerry Wardlow of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Wayne Wardlow of Lakeside, California and Danny Wardlow of San Diego, California; a sister, Veronica Lynn Fox of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania. Also nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
