Jim L. Fulford, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held at Forest Lawn, West Covina, California at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Donations may be made to Southern Oregon Special Olympics, 290 NE C Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Jim was born March 23, 1929 in Ottawa, Carleton County, Canada to James Lorne Fulford and Margaret Evelyn (Headrick). He was raised and attended school and graduated from high school there. He met and married Dorothy Margaret Raymond and they moved to Ontario, Canada. In 1965 he moved his family to West Covina, California and worked for Southern California Edison until he retired in 1988. In 1988 he moved to Grants Pass. In 1993 he met his special companion, Jeannette Vigus-Rigdon.

He was a member of KOA Campground, Good Sam, and Coast to Coast.

His hobbies included calling on his CB radio operator, camping, traveling, collecting model trains, fishing, card playing and watching wildlife.

Survivors include his companion, Jeannette Vigus-Rigdon of Grants Pass; three daughters, Linda (Bruce) Covey of Henderson, Nevada, Judy (Dennis) Best of Las Vegas, Nevada and Nancy (Greg) Pangot of Dayton, Nevada; a brother, George Fulford, of Alberta, Canada; two grandchildren, Sean (Kim) Best and Jason (Alanna) Best; five great-grandchildren, David Best, Brittany Best, Brandy Best, Jennifer Best and James Best.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Margaret Fulford in 1992, brother, Donald Hendrick Fulford, daughter, Ann McDole in 2009 and son-in-law, Doug Brashear in 1999.
