Jim Clark

Jim Clark, age 85, of Grants Pass, died May 7, 2018 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Jim was born November 10, 1932 in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Southern California and graduated with a Bachelors degree from USC. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army with the rank of sergeant. On August 22, 1959 he married Juanita Manson. In 1976 he moved from Cypress, California to Grants Pass and in 1982 started Jim Clark’s Consignment County.

Jim built a stellar reputation not just for selling RV’s but for being an outstanding businessman, family man, contributor to the community and friend to all. He had a warm hug and a compliment waiting for you. He had a way of making you feel special and important. No matter your age, to him, you were just as important as family. He was known as “grandpa” to many.

You may have seen him at a Grants Pass Cavemen football game, sitting in his row at church, participating in a Rotary event, enjoying an ice cream on a bench at the Josephine County Fair, or eating out at one of his favorite restaurants. His smile was hard to miss.

Family was extremely important to Jim. He wasn’t just an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, but was everyone’s best friend.

Survivors include five children, Mark Clark of Grants Pass, John Clark of Riverside, California, Chris Clark and Judy Wilkinson both of Grants Pass, and Scott Clark of Lakeview; a sister, Mavourneen Sekonda of Grants Pass; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Rose Clark and a sister, Patricia Lewis.

A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Parkway Christian Center. If you wish to attend his celebration please dress happy and colorful, just like Jim did.

Private interment with military honors was held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
